The Thomson Test Chart may be controlled using a mouse by means of the Toolbars.

If a single monitor is used, Toolbars may be displayed on the main Test Chart window by selecting Show toolbars on Test chart on the General tab of the Program Options window.  If this option is selected, a toolbar will be displayed when the mouse is moved to the top of the Test Chart screen and hidden again when the mouse is moved down.

If two monitors are being used, it is best to disable the Show toolbars on Test chart option and display the Control window.  The Control window has the Toolbars at the top of the window and a variety of other context sensitive scroll-bars giving complete mouse control of the Test Chart.

The toolbar is divided into two sections: the Primary and Secondary toolbar.  The two sections can be moved and resized or put one above the other.

The Primary toolbar shows the primary test modes. The buttons displayed depend to some extent on the program configuration.

The Secondary toolbar shows the various tests and options available within the current Primary mode.  The contents of this toolbar are context sensitive and changes with the Primary mode and the options selected in the Secondary mode.

The functions of each key are generally obvious from the icon but a Tip will be displayed if the mouse cursor is hovered over the button.

The Primary toolbar keys are associated with the function keys (F1 to F12) on the keyboard and the Primary buttons on the remote control.

The Secondary toolbar buttons are associated with various keys on the keyboard and Secondary buttons on the remote.  The associated keys are generally shown below the button (e.g.. O, R, I etc.)
