Connecting a PC and Tablet with iDisplay

For this to work, a third party application called iDisplay must be installed on the tablet and the iDisplay server program must be installed on the PC.  iDisplay is available for Apple and Android devices.

PLEASE NOTE: iDisplay is not currently compatible with Windows 10 although the developers report that an upgrade will be forthcoming.

To link a PC and Tablet:

• Download iDisplay onto the tablet
• Download the iDisplay server program onto the PC running Test Chart 2016
• Ensure that the Tablet and the PC are on the same network
• Run the iDisplay server program on the PC
• Run the iDisplay app on the tablet
• Choose the PC that the Tablet is to connect to (if there is more than one on the network)
• The PC screen may flicker but if the connection is successful the Windows background should now appear on the tablet screen.
• A small iDisplay icon should be displayed on the Windows taskbar.  Right clicking on this displays a sub-menu allowing various options to be set.  Selecting  Settings... Display arrangement displays the window shown below:









This shows the arrangement of the Tablet and the two monitors attached to the PC.  The monitors and tablet effectively become one large desktop so that a the mouse cursor moves off the edge of one screen it appear on another.  The arrangement of the Tablet and the two monitors can be changed by simply dragging the monitor icons to a new position. It is usually best for the Tablet to be to the right or the left of the other two monitors.

The next stage is to enable the Tablet within Test Chart 2016 and Calibrate the screen.
