The Thomson Test Chart provides two methods for presenting polarised test stimuli.

  • A polarised mask (supplied by Thomson Software Solutions) can be mounted in front of a standard 24'' monitor so that parts of the screen behind the mask are polarised in orthogonal directions.  the Thomson Test Chart includes a range of stimuli specifically for use with the polarised mask.

  • A Clinical Quality polarised monitor can be supplied by Thomson Software Solutions.  This has a micro-filter which polarizes the odd rows of pixels in one direction and the even rows of pixels in the orthogonal direction so that with the patient viewing the screen through cross-polarised filters stimuli may be presented to each eye independently or binocular. the Thomson Test Chart includes a range of stimuli specifically for use with the polarised monitor.
