Polarised Monitors
Thomson Software Solutions has been at the forefront of developing clinical quality polarised monitors.
Clinical Quality 27'' polarised monitor available from Thomson Software Solutions
Polarised monitors incorporate a very fine polarised "grating" which polarises all the odd rows of pixels in one direction and the even rows in the opposite direction. With the patient viewing the monitor through cross-polarised filters, stimuli can be presented to one eye by drawing on the odd rows, the other eye by drawing on the even rows and to both eyes by drawing on odd and even rows.
This opens us exciting new opportunities for binocular refraction and binocular vision testing. It can also be used to generate some stunning 3D images.
The Thomson Test Chart includes a wide range of tests to exploit this new technology.
- A polar icon is shown on the Primary toolbar giving access to the Polatest
- The polarised fixation disparity tests are used instead of those requiring Red/Green dissociation
- Additional tests are included under the Refrn group for binocular balancing
- Group 9 of the fixation images now contains a large selection of polarised 3D images
