The polarised monitor should be wall-mounted in the same way as a standard monitor.


However, care is required to ensure that the monitor is mounted at the correct height relative to the patient's eyes as the polarised effect is less effective if the screen is viewed from an angle.


The best way of positioning the monitor is to have a subject looking at the screen from the examination chair and to display one of the polarised test screens on the monitor.  The position of the display can then be varied until the optimum binocular separation is achieved.  This position can then be marked and the monitor permanently mounted.
